REPEATER

Create a rectangle- white fill –  no stroke
Center the Anchor Point
Add Repeater by clicking on the Add arrow under the layer name and next to contents
Open the Repeater layer
Add 10 copies
Open the Transform:Repeater and change the Position to 0,0
*this makes them stack upon each other
Now go to Rotation and add a value that is equivalent to 360 degrees DIVIDED By your amount of copies, in our case it will be 36
Add Keyframe to Rotation, move the playhead forward and then lower rotation back to 0
Select Both Keyrframes and add Easy Ease
Experiment with the Opacity Keyframes and more!

*for the Circle experiment modify the Postion of the Elipse Path

TRIM PATHS w SHAPE
Use the Pen Tool to create a curve
Make sure it has no fill, just stroke
Open the Shape Layer
Add Trim Paths
Open Trim Paths, Change the END to 0% and the move the playhead forward and change it to 100%
The ‘path’ is ‘trimmed’ (hidden) as you go in time!
Open up the STROKE layer for this shape and Add A Dash!
Keyframe the dashes!
This makes for a more dynamic effect

TRIM PATHS w TEXT
Create a Text Layer
Use NO FILL just STROKES
Center the anchor center point
Go to the layer, Right Click > Create Shapes from Text
This makes a shape based layer, you can delete the text layer now
Open the layer and select the first letter
Add TRIM PATHS
Open TRIM PATHS and modify the END and change it to 0% and add a keyframe
then move about 20 frames and 100%
Add Easy Ease to the keyframes if you want
You can also modify the direction of the Trim by clicking on the arrows next to the letter
Move your playhead back to the beginning
Now select both key frames, and press Ctrl/Cmnd + C to copy them
Now select the other letter layers and press paste Ctrl/Cmnd + V
*adjust each letter as necessary
To stagger the Effect
Press U to see all the keyframes
Now move them across the timeline for each letter

TrkMat & MASKING
Create a new composition
Create a Solid fill layer color and lock it.
Create a Circle Shape in the center of your canvas and center its anchor point
Use Keyframes to make the circle go from tiny to huge
Turn the Eyeball OFF on this layer and lock it
Now Create a TEXT LAYER and write some text that takes up lots of space on your canvas
Now click the Transfer Controls button in the bottom left of your timeline

This will reveal the TrkMat options for your layers

Put the TEXT LAYER below your SHAPE LAYER
Change the TrkMat option on the TEXT LAYER to “Alpha Matte”
You should now see that the shape has become an animated mask over your type

Now copy the SHAPE LAYER and put the copy underneath the TYPE LAYER
Put the eyeball ON and go into the settings of this shape layer and change the fill color
Now you will have an animated mask over the type AND a new color underneat the type!
